We’ve just been notified of a new grant available to Minnesota adoptive families who are home study approved. The $1,500 grant was created by an adoptive family hoping to help prospective adoptive parents with adoption expenses. Grants are awarded to singles, couples and families hoping to adopt through foster care adoption, domestic adoption, international adoption and same family adoption. Families waiting for a placement of a child—in other words, families who’ve already brought their child home are not eligible. Two grants are awarded annually.
Adoption is Love Fund is a 501c3 non-profit started by adoptive mom, Julie Overbye Ledy with Loving Adoption Consultants. “As an adoptive mom, I want to help other families who are hoping to adopt a child by helping offset the cost of an adoption. Every child deserves a loving home. My two daughters from Guatemala are wonderful blessings in my life. We look forward to being part of another family’s adoption story.”
Julie’s four children are key members of the charity. They choose the deserving grant recipients and help with all fundraisers.
Deadlines for grants are March 15 and October 15. A complete application with supporting documents must be submitted by the deadline to be considered. Families who are not selected, can reapply up to three times.
