Please tell your member of Congress TODAY what this tax credit means to you
The U.S. House released details about their tax plan that will eliminate the Adoption Tax Credit. Additionally, the plan removes the tax exclusion for employer adoption assistance.
For over 20 years, the Adoption Tax Credit has been helping families adopt from foster care, international programs and private U.S. adoption. This one-time credit, that could be spread across five years, helped families offset the upfront costs of adopting children—for some families the credit provided the economic means they needed to move forward with an adoption and change the lives of children.
Eliminating the Adoption Tax Credit will make adoption more difficult for many American families and make it harder for U.S. children to join permanent, loving families.

Your U.S. Representative needs to hear from you today that they should keep the Adoption Tax Credit and tax exclusion for employer adoption assistance.
Personal stories help. If you previously adopted and utilized the credit or exclusion, share that story with your U.S. Representative. If you are currently going through the adoption process, and took the first step knowing that these benefits would help you build your family, let your U.S. Representative know.
