Rare Disease Day Advocacy | Meet a young, social boy

February 22, 2018 by Staff Contributor

J looks wide eyed at the camera. he is wearing a pastel striped button down shirt.Help us advocate for this waiting child in preparation for Rare Disease Day on February 28

Born in 2009, this young boy is known to be social. J enjoys dancing, singing and painting. He has the ability to make and maintain friendships and has many friends at school. J maintains good motor skills, despite his medical need. He is able to bathe, assist in chores, and understand instructions.  We have videos of J climbing on the playground independently, playing soccer, and adorably dancing the salsa (we can share these with eligible families who inquire).

General Eligibility Requirements

All applicants must be between the ages of 25-55 and have no serious physical or mental health concerns. Couples should be married a minimum of two years. Single women and men are eligible. All applicants must be able to travel to South America.

Learn More About J

We cannot share medical information on the public area of our site, but more information and videos are available. Please contact [email protected] and reference 617-59 at any time to learn more about J. Eligible families may qualify for a grant through CH/LSS and Brittany’s Hope Foundation.

Financing Adoption

There are a number of resources available to families who would like to adopt but are concerned about financing. If you would like to learn more, we welcome you to inquire about the Adoption Support Fund and view our infographic of fundraising ideas.
