During National Foster Care Month, get to know Lonnae, a teen waiting for adoption in Minnesota foster care
Lonnae is a fun, caring 15-year-old with a great sense of humor. She may initially present as shy, but she quickly warms up and loves one-on-one time.
Lonnae loves going to school and is a hard worker. She has held a variety of paid jobs at school, and her favorite job is deconstructing computers. Lonnae’s hobbies include listening to music, coloring, cooking, riding her bike, dodgeball, and playing with electronics. She enjoys watching sports and is a Twins fan. Her favorite food is pizza, but you will never see her eat seafood! Lonnae loves animals and wants a variety of pets.
Lonnae would prefer a home where she is the youngest and/or only child. She is very open to homes throughout Minnesota and a variety different family compositions. Lonnae flourishes in stable, positive, and consistent environments.

Because Lonnae waits in Minnesota foster care, only Minnesota residents are eligible to adopt her. The majority of costs to clients adopting a child under Minnesota state guardianship are covered by a contract with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
