Meet Landon: An Outdoorsy Teen With A Great Sense of Humor

August 27, 2020 by Emily Cain

Landon is a funny, respectful, and inquisitive 14-year-old with a warm sense of humor and love for the outdoors. “He’s a great kid—fun to be around with a lot of love to give,” says his Child Specific Recruiter, Sara Jeske.

Just last week, Landon and Sara spent time together talking and enjoying lunch outside. “Landon loves to eat dinner out and spend quality time with the adults in his life,” says Sara.

Whether hunting, fishing, or driving ATVs, outdoor time is an important part of Landon’s health and wellness, and he hopes his future family will also share a love of the great outdoors. While he would like to live in a rural area where he can easily connect with nature, Landon is open to living any living anywhere with a loving family—especially if they have pets! Landon is open to being in a family with siblings but would need to be the youngest.

“An ideal family for Landon would be patient, kind, and empathetic,” says Sara. “His future family needs to have the ability to be able to provide the services he needs for his mental health, and also have a lot of time, attention, and love to give. Going on outdoor adventures and playing games is also very important to him.”

Landon would thrive with a family who can help him learn and grow throughout his teenage years and provide guidance as he learns how to become an independent and responsible adult. “Landon would be a great addition to a patient and caring family. He is full of potential and would be a great son and brother to the right family!” says Sara.

Details to Note

Due to contracts with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the cost of adopting a child from Minnesota foster care is virtually free to families.
