Nevaeh is a confident, outgoing, and unique 17-year-old who is full of energy and hope for the future. She graduated this past spring and is excited to start college in the fall! Nevaeh is also looking forward to her new job at Caribou Coffee.
When she’s not in classes or working, Nevaeh loves to hang out with friends (and get Mexican food, her absolute favorite!), listen to music, and sing. Music is her passion in life, and she is a talented singer and songwriter. Nevaeh aspires to become a musical artist in the future.
As she approaches her 18th birthday, Nevaeh craves the independence and freedom that adulthood brings. When thinking about a forever family, Nevaeh hopes that they will be adaptable and give her the autonomy that she desires. An ideal family for Nevaeh would respect her independence as she enters young adulthood, while still being able to provide guidance and support as she navigates new challenges and experiences.

Nevaeh would thrive living in a rural or metro area in a home with or without pets. Most recently she has lived in rural areas and has been doing great. Wherever she lives, it is important that there is racial and cultural diversity in the community. Nevaeh identifies as African American, and it is important to her that her family and community support her racial identity. It will also be important for her to feel supported as she maintains her relationship with her biological grandmother. She would love to have older siblings who are living outside of the house to look up to as role models.
“Nevaeh is an energetic teen who can get along with anyone that comes her way. She dreams of having a family who is supportive, committed, and respectful as she approaches adulthood. She has many dreams and goals as she begins college this upcoming fall. Although she has some insecurities to overcome, she thrives when supported in a positive and affirming way,” says her Child Specific Recruiter, Colleen.
