During National Foster Care Month, get to know three siblings waiting for adoption in minnesota foster care
This sibling group is a bundle of energy! Each kid has their own personality traits but they also have a few things in common: like the fact that they all eat a ton! Their child-specific recruiter, Stephanie, noted that they are really cute to watch as “they all sit around in the home and chat with each other, kind of like a group of old friends reminiscing over coffee.”
Emmanuel is the oldest at 6 years old. He is a leader who is very observant and has a great memory. He remembers people he meets and makes friends easily. “He is really energetic and imaginative; he is good at playing by himself because of his ability to make up entire stories from scratch,” Stephanie shared. He also has big dreams of being a scientist when he grows up.
Angelina, the middle child, is a 4-year-old girl who smiles all of the time. Stephanie shared a moment from their last meeting, “Angelina grabbed my phone to take pictures and selfies. She really loves to show off that smile.” She also spent time picking out the colors of her pants, “I love stars—green blue, yellow…” she would narrate as she pointed to the stars of different colors that she was wearing. She’s just an absolute joy to be with.
At 2 years old, Maria is the youngest. Maria loves to play and bounce around the house. “She appears super shy when you first meet her, but she has spunk,” said Stephanie, “She shyly looked at me, and then stuck out her tongue. She would also goof around by making faces and raising her eyebrows at me during our last visit.”
We are looking for a committed patient family that can provide a loving and supportive home for all three siblings. Ideally, their adoptive family will be located in the Twin Cities, but this is not a requirement. Families should be open to maintaining contact between this trio and their older siblings.
details To note
Because Emmanuel, Angeline and Maria wait in Minnesota foster care, only Minnesota residents are eligible to adopt them. The majority of costs to clients adopting a child under Minnesota state guardianship are covered by a contract with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
