May 25, 2016 by Staff Contributor

A photo of three sisters waiting in Minnesota foster care for an adoptive family.During National Foster Care Month, get to three active and playful siblings waiting for adoption in Minnesota foster care

Elizabeth (Lizzy) is an active 9-year-old girl with a good sense of humor. She enjoys being silly and goofy with others. Lizzy can be shy when she is first meeting someone, but is able to open up quickly. She will express herself in different ways and can be boisterous. Lizzy can also be kind, helpful and respectful to others. She likes to play cards, read books, and draw pictures and color. She also likes to listen to music, sing, and watch movies. Lizzy enjoys playing with her Barbie dolls and having her nails painted or painting nails for other people. Lizzy enjoys playing in the snow, going sledding, and playing at the park. She likes to assist with cooking and baking. Some of Lizzy’s favorite foods are chicken, sandwiches, and popcorn. Lizzy likes to attend church and prays daily.

Roselynn (Rosie) is a bright, playful, and caring 8-year-old. She is funny, has a great sense of humor, and likes to make people laugh. Rosie is fearless when it comes to certain things; however, she can be cautious at times. She is a good eater and likes most foods, but can be hesitant to try new foods. Rosie likes to watch movies- her favorite is FROZEN. She also enjoys doing puzzles and playing with toys, especially her My Little Pony. Rosie’s favorite color is pink. She likes playing soccer, softball, and going swimming. Rosie loves animals, especially dogs and cats. She would like to have a pet.

Angel is an active and outgoing 6-year-old child. He is helpful, caring and kind. He likes being outside and playing with other children as well as swimming and playing at the park. He also enjoys playing with remote control cars. He likes crafts, coloring in his coloring books, and watching television. Angel’s favorite food are pizza and chicken. He is not a picky eater, but does not like a lot of vegetables.

Lizzy, Rosie, and Angel do best with structure and positive reinforcement. They should be the only children in the home.

details To note

Because these kids wait in Minnesota foster care, only Minnesota residents are eligible to adopt them. The majority of costs to clients adopting a child under Minnesota state guardianship are covered by a contract with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
