Waiting Children of December | Meet Marcus

December 21, 2015 by Staff Contributor

Marcus, a boy waiting in foster care, smiles in a plaid shirt.Marcus waits in Minnesota foster care for a family

Marcus is a loving 11-year-old boy who enjoys listening to music and loves to sing and hum along to the tunes (his favorite genre is Rock!). His favorite toys are ones that make noises when you press buttons. He loves being read to, especially anything Dr. Seuss. Marcus likes to touch people’s hands to figure out who they are, and enjoys snuggling with the people he knows. He is used to living in a full and busy house, and likes the attention he receives from others, especially from kids and pets. Marcus likes to repeat words that he hears others say and sometimes likes to repeat songs too. However, he is now starting to make purposeful statements that are often humorous. Marcus is now eating solid foods and has been quite adventurous with all of the new tastes.

Marcus needs a family that is open to learning about and supporting his medical needs. His adoptive home will need to be easily accessible and provide 24-hour care. A family that can provide him lots of attention, love, and hugs and who will include him in all of their family activities would be best! It would be best if Marcus stayed in the Twin Cities area.

details To note

Because Marcus waits in Minnesota foster care, only Minnesota residents are eligible to adopt him. The majority of costs to clients adopting a child under Minnesota state guardianship are covered by a contract with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Meet oTHER WAITING CHILDREN

During December we are advocating for twelve children who currently wait for families. We appreciate any time you take to get to know these children and consider whether your family, or a family you know, could be theirs.
