Our G.R.O.W. (Guidance, Resources and Opportunities While you Wait) events are held quarterly (in January, April, July and October) and are open to all families in our infant adoption program that are in the home study process and beyond. These events will offer a chance for families to connect and learn about various topics from one another and adoption professionals.
A modern take on a book club, we invite you to join us to share and review various examples of adoption in the media. Bring your review of a book, article, webinar, podcast, or movie with adoption themes. We hope to cover topic areas relating to transracial adoption, openness with birth families, identity issues, and grief and loss, among others. Don’t be afraid to use your worker as a resource if you are in need of ideas of what to read or view. CH/LSS staff will be available to facilitate discussions and share additional resources. There will also be opportunities for waiting families to connect with one another about their experiences throughout the evening. Families who attend will leave with valuable information and resources in order to further their adoption knowledge and prepare themselves for an adoptive placement, as well as new connections with other waiting families to bring them a renewed sense of excitement and support in their adoption process.
Please R.S.V.P. directly to your worker if you plan to attend.
