Our G.R.O.W. (Guidance, Resources and Opportunities While you Wait) events are held quarterly (in January, April, July and October) and are open to all families in our infant adoption program that are in the home study process and beyond. These events will offer a chance for families to connect and learn about various topics from one another and adoption professionals.
Join us as our Senior Director of Adoption, Alexis Oberdorfer presents on her personal and professional experiences with transracial adoption as an adoptee, adoptive parent, and adoption professional. She will provide recommendations for adoptive parenting in order to ensure that the needs of children are met in transracial adoptions. Families are encouraged to submit questions to their worker ahead of time to be addressed by Alexis. The second half of the event will consist of an informal support group, providing the opportunity for waiting families to connect with one another about their experiences. Bring your lunch and get ready to talk, as we have extended the timeframe for this portion! Families who attend will leave with a more informed perspective on transracial adoption, resources for parenting transracially, and new connections with other waiting families.
Please R.S.V.P. directly to your worker if you plan to attend.
