International Pre-Adoption Class
August 14, 2020
For families in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin interested in international adoption
After completing Application Part 1, all Minnesota and Western Wisconsin families planning to pursue an international adoption through Children’s Home Society of Minnesota are required to complete this class to meet your education requirements. It is helpful to have a majority of your Application Part 2 completed prior to attending this class.
This class will familiarize you with the international adoption process. Some of the topics discussed will be: program process, steps and time frames involved in completing an international adoption, bonding and attachment in adoption, understanding the effects of institutionalized care of children, common medical concerns, multicultural families and cross-cultural parenting. You will also have the opportunity to listen to a panel of adoptive parents share their adoption experiences.
Location: Children’s Home & LSS, 1605 Eustis Street Saint Paul, MN 55108
Cost: The cost of this class is $250 per person or $500 per couple. This fee may be paid upon arrival to your selected class date, however it must be received prior to entry into the classes.
Please Note: In order to complete your education requirements, you will also need to complete a 4-hour training with Tim Wright. You will learn more during this pre-adoption class.
