Korean Institute of Minnesota (KIM) School is honored to have the opportunity to host a “Guest Speaker” series this session. Please join them in welcoming these talented members of our community and embracing the opportunity to learn from each other.
The March 3 speaker will be Kim Jackson. Adopted at the age of almost four by a couple in Minneapolis, Kim Jackson grew up in NE Minneapolis. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a BA in Journalism. She has worked in the publishing and graphic design businesses for more than 20 years, including owning her business Dalros Design for almost a decade. Through a Cultural Community Partnership grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Kim Jackson co-created and published her labor of love project HERE: A Visual History of Adopted Koreans in Minnesota, with fellow adoptees, Heewon Lee, Jaeran Kim and Kim Park Nelson. Kim Jackson is currently an art director for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. She lives in Minnetonka with her husband and two beautiful kids, Jessie and Olin, her current labors of love.
Guest Speaker sessions will run from 9:30a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Korean Presbyterian Church of Minnesota (5840 Humboldt Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55430). A modest donation of $10 per attendee for the program is suggested to help offset the costs to cover guest speaker honorariums.
