In this free two-part webinar series you will learn valuable information about how to engage in meaningful conversations about race and family, how to improve permanency outcomes and promote cultural awareness and understanding within their families and communities. Please commit to attending both events.
This webinar series is presented by Partnerships for Permanence and hosted by Children’s Home Society of Minnesota.
This live webinar will provide a structured informational training based on the historical context of race and an overview of racial and generational trauma; for the audience to better understand its effects on children of color and their families. This training is important for families who struggle with understanding racial traumas, cultural clashes, and adapting to different cultural norms and values — all of which can improve permanency outcomes.
This live webinar will provide an opportunity for the audience to share their understanding of race and cultural identity, and assess their experiences and knowledge of talking about race with their foster/adoptive children and family members. We will provide them with tips and recommendations for addressing issues around: identity formation and identity crisis/search process from adult professionals and young leaders with lived experiences.
