DESCRIPTION:Join Us for Community & Connection\nConnect2Connect provides opportunities for foster and adoptive families to connect with one another and build relationships in an in-person\, interactive\, and fun way. Connect2Connect is made possible by the Minnesota Department of Human Service Permanency Support Service grant. \nLSS recognizes that LGBTQ+ families may have different experiences from the larger foster and adoptive community and want to provide a safe and dedicated space for connection with families sharing in those experiences. \nEscapology\nSaturday\, May 11\, 2024\, from 11:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.\nJoin us on May 11\, 2024\, for a day of escape games at Escapology in Burnsville\, Minnesota! We will have the party room space reserved as well as a catered lunch. The game rooms are not tightly spaced\, and the doors will remain unlocked for anyone that needs to step out during the activity. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our free webinar presented by Molly Crawford\, State Registrar for the Office of Vital Records\, discussing the recent law change for adoptees accessing original birth certificates. \nAdoptee Access to Original Birth Records\nBeginning July 1\, 2024\, adopted people born in Minnesota who are 18 or older will be able to request their original birth certificates from the Minnesota Department of Health. Birth parents named on an original birth record may submit a “Contact Preference Form” to indicate their preference for contact by the adopted person. \nQuestions?
