Introduction

Hello there–Jeff and Anne here! Thank you for taking the time to read about us. We are so excited for this time in our lives and cannot wait to be parents. We hope this profile will assist you in making such an important and difficult decision.

About Us

We are high school sweethearts and have been together for 16 years and married for seven of them. We have two wonderful older cats, Chloe and Binx.  This year we made the move to be closer to both our families (who happen to be next-door neighbors in our hometown of Cannon Falls, Minnesota). We both love adventure and the excitement it brings. We try to make one out-of-state trip every year. For other weekends we have a permanent campsite in southeast Minnesota about an hour from us. We are grateful for the quality time we get to spend there and look forward to sharing these life-enriching experiences with our child.

A Little about Anne

Even before my diagnosis of infertility, adopting a child was a logical and familiar option to consider.  Adoption has always been a big part of my family’s life. I was adopted.  My two older brothers were adopted.  My mother was adopted.  This will be the third generation of adoption on my side of the family. I understand that every adoptee comes to view their own birthparents and adoption in a unique and highly personal way, across their entire lifetime. Our child will find his or her parents and extended family always at the ready to answer questions and offer loving support to their unique needs as an adoptee. I love art, design and crafting. I also love to camp, hike and explore.

A Little about Jeff

I was born in and spent my entire childhood in Cannon Falls on a horse farm. I showed horses with my entire family across the country, giving me some of my fondest memories. Quality time with family is rooted in me, and I hope to continue this with our children. I also played sports in school baseball, tennis, basketball, and was in the band. I am an outdoors person and like to fish and hike with my wife, family and friends.

Home, Family and Community

We live in a 3-bedroom home that sits on a 1.5-acre lot. We have a beautiful little creek that runs through the property with a grove of trees surrounding it. We live two blocks away from the Kasson-Mantorville School district complex. It’s a smaller school district and the student-teacher ratio is intended to provide every child the best education possible. The community is very diverse and is close to Rochester, which makes for a great urban and rural blend. Our neighborhood has numerous families with infants and young children, and many parks and public walking paths are available nearby.

Our child will immediately become a part of a large and extended family that includes both sides of the family.  As next-door neighbors, the Johnson and Erickson families enjoy birthday and holiday gatherings at each other’s homes in Cannon Falls.  Our child will be welcomed by aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and one set of great-grandparents.  ATV rides, fishing on the Little Cannon River, and pony rides are all waiting to be enjoyed.

Our Promise

Family is our Number One priority. Tradition is something that makes special memories, and we hope to create new ones with our child. We will always honor and celebrate our child’s racial heritage, ethnic background and gender identity.  These are all essential parts of who they are, and we want them to grow up proud–with empathy and understanding for others.  Whether it is family, school, sports, worship or community, we plan to immerse ourselves as a close-knit and loving family in the life of our community and world.

We would be honored if you chose us to be the adoptive parents of your child.  It is the greatest gift any person can give, and the only gift we can give in return is to promise you that we and our extended family will do everything in our power to show our child the same love and guidance you would’ve provided as a parent.  There will never be a day that passes without remembering you as the one that made it possible.
