Adoption Medicine Clinic Stress Reduction and Wellness Study

We received notice from the Adoption Medicine Clinic that this study is being postponed due to COVID-19. 

Dr. Eckerle and the Adoption Medicine Clinic are inviting parents and their adopted children to join a first-of-its-kind study to evaluate the benefits of practicing mind/body stress reduction techniques within adoptive families.

What is the opportunity?

Attend an educational group coaching session each week for 8 consecutive weeks and learn mind/body skills to increase self-awareness and reduce stress reactions. These include: meditation, deep breathing, normalizing experiences, movement and more.

how long may i participate?

Each educational group coaching session (parents and children meet in separate groups, but at the same time) is 2 hours long and will meet one time per week for 8 consecutive weeks; Wednesdays, April 15, 2020 – June 3, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There is no cost to you and your child participating in these sessions.

who can participate?

Adoptive parents and their adopted children (age 11-14) who commit to attending the 8 consecutive week sessions.
