“Joyful, friendly, and loveable” are just a few of the words that describe 14-year-old Aaron, says his Child-Specific Recruiter, Kathy Clark. “His smile is so contagious! When you’re around him, you can’t help but smile too.”
Due to social distancing measures, the last time they spent time together was over FaceTime, but when Aaron heard Kathy’s voice over the phone his face lit up with a huge smile. “It totally made my day!” says Kathy.
Aaron goes to a special education school where students participate in activities specifically tailored to each child. One of Kathy’s favorite memories with Aaron was when she saw him in his music class at school. “He was able to play instruments with the help of his teachers and he enjoyed that so much!”s also include listening to music and watching cartoons. “He is also really entertained by having his little foster brothers around.” says Kathy. “He loves to smile and do a little dance when they play with him, sing to him, and visit with him after school.”
An ideal family for Aaron would have plenty of patience and be willing to learn about his medical needs and specialty care. “Aaron would thrive in a family who are willing to give him opportunities and experiences, just like with any other kiddo,” says Kathy. He also needs a family who is organized and able to schedule appointments and work as a member of a care team. His family will need to be attentive to his needs and be committed to caring for him throughout his lifetime.
“Aaron has so much love to give,” says Kathy. “He deserves a forever family. He deserves endless love and care. He deserves to be treasured by a family and spoiled on holidays. Aaron is such a special kid.”
Thinking ahead to Aaron’s future, Kathy says, “I would love to see him be fully incorporated into a family, part of family photos, his awards from school hanging on the walls in his room. Seeing him be a part of a family vacation, road trip, trips to the beach, and having new experiences would make my heart so happy.”
