We’re two hopeful dads who can’t wait to grow our family through adoption. Here’s our promise: love, patience, laughter, music, dad jokes, homemade bread, road trips. The loudest cheering section, the goofiest cats, the biggest hugs. Support when things get tough, celebrations when things go right, and the strength to say we’re sorry when we get it wrong.

MEET ADAM

Adam was born and raised in Minnesota. He’s a musician, playing guitar and writing songs. He’s an athlete, skiing and running and playing ultimate. He’s an educator, experienced both in taking kids on adventures in the woods and in the classroom. He pays careful attention to the things he cares about, whether that’s the books he’s reading or his houseplants or the feelings of his friends. He’s gentle, patient, and kind, and can’t wait to build a home with his kids.

MEET JOHN

John grew up all over the world and is still an explorer at heart. He’s a serious home baker, having gone to French pastry school, with a special love for croissants. He’s a woodworker and a potter who loves working with his hands. His favorite feeling in the world is being useful. He likes to wake up early on purpose so that he can make people breakfast. He’s generous, funny, and adventurous and can’t wait to show his kids the world.

OUR LIVES

We live with our cats – Broccoli and Morticia – in South Minneapolis. Our home is near parks, lakes, schools, and shops. Our neighborhood is leafy and quiet, but is only a quick bus ride from downtown. We love living in a diverse, multi-cultural city that has easy access to nature.

Adam is an educator, who after years in the classroom now coaches teachers around the country. John owns a thriving data consulting business. We’ve both been successful in our careers and deeply value balancing our work and our lives.

John cooks and empties the litter box, and Adam cleans and takes care of the yard. We enjoy sitting by the fire, going on lots of walks, having dinner parties with our friends, and listening to records.

OUR HOPE

We’ve each wanted to be dads for as long as we can remember. It’s one of the things that drew us together. We love being uncles, godfathers, teachers, and mentors to the kids in our lives, and we are excited to grow our family through adoption. We’ll be first time parents with lots to learn, but we’re so excited for the journey, and so grateful to be considered.

OUR COMMITMENT

We will put this amazing kid at the center of our lives. We will teach them to be grateful for the blessings we have and the importance of giving back. We’ll travel with them, showing them how big and exciting the world is, and that they can do anything they set their mind to. We’ll take them to baseball games and museums and cabins by lakes, and we’ll have lazy Saturday mornings and eat dinner together all the time. We’ll bake – a lot. We’ll share what we love and discover what they love. We’ll never be bored.

We will also put this incredible kid’s birth family – you – at the center of our lives. We’ll make sure they know they have been loved from the very beginning, and that they know their roots and who they are. We want you to be part of that. We are open to pictures, phone calls, visits – whatever feels right to you. We know that some days won’t be easy, but we also know that with love, patience, and commitment we can get through those days together.
