Tamiea is a funny and outgoing 14-year-old girl who enjoys playing with dogs, going on walks, cooking, swimming, and doing her makeup. Her favorite subject in school is art class because she enjoys making arts and crafts.
An ideal weekend for Tamiea would include going out to eat and doing a fun activity like visiting a museum, shopping, hiking, or watching a scary movie. She also loves spending time with animals. Tamiea and her Child Specific Recruiter, Hayley, often visit the Humane Society as part of their monthly visits. “She loves petting cats and dogs and giving them treats,” says Hayley. “She would love to have a dog in her future placemen!”
“Tamiea is looking forward to being a part of a family and being able to have a place to call home. She is one of the most loving, caring, and kind teenagers that you will ever meet! —Hayley Persons, Child Specific Recruiter
When thinking about her forever home, Tamiea would prefer living in either the city or the suburbs, with a mom and a dad. She would do best with older siblings in a pet-friendly household. An ideal family for Tamiea would help provide structure and consistency in her day-to-day life and have an understanding of complex trauma. She will also need least one caregiver who has a flexible schedule and can accompany her to her appointments on a regular basis.
“Tamiea faces some behavioral and mental health challenges,” says Hayley. “Her forever family can best support her by maintaining the services she is currently active in, such as therapy, CADI case management, skills work, and a level 3 IEP. She has moderate mental, behavioral, and learning needs, and at times, severe needs.”
A family needs to be consistent in maintaining structure in the household, continuing services, and consistently showing Tamiea love, patience, and care. “Tamiea is looking forward to being a part of a family and being able to have a place to call home. She is one of the most loving, caring, and kind teenagers that you will ever meet! She truly has a heart of gold and wants to be successful in life,” says Hayley.
