Meet A Creative Teen Who Loves to Make People Laugh

August 31, 2021 by Emily Cain

Teen with microphoneAri is a 15-year-old who can light up your day with her creative and caring spirit. “Ari has an amazing sense of humor! She can make any conversation funny and brighten up a room with her smile,” says Jason, her Child Specific Recruiter.

Ari is funny, thoughtful, and loves to make people laugh. She is a natural performer and dreams of being YouTuber one day so she can create videos that bring joy to others. Ari loves to express her creativity through writing and performing parody rap songs!

Her favorite subject in school is science. She loves learning about how things work and is always brainstorming cool ideas for inventions that would make our lives better. Although she is enthusiastic about her favorite subjects in school, Ari has struggled over the past few years. Her future family will need to be supportive in helping her focus on her homework and access resources. “Ari is strong and can advocate for her own needs,” says Jason, “but she needs people in her life who can help her follow through on goals.”

Ari is a great person who has a ton of potential. She is capable of taking over the world and making it better one joke and smile at a time. She can be a joy to be around and will be a great addition to a family. —Jason Hirsch, Child Specific Recruiter

Looking ahead to her future, Ari hopes for a forever home where she can thrive, be supported for who she is, and express her creativity and sense of humor freely. She would do well in a two-parent home and would be compatible with two moms, two dads, or a mom and a dad who live in the city or suburbs. She would be very open to having a younger sibling and living in a home with pets. It will be important for Ari to maintain contact with her biological family (when appropriate), which includes her half-brother, stepmom, and step-siblings.

Ari needs parents who can work with her through grief and help her go to therapy. One of the best ways a family can support Ari is to be knowledgeable about the effects of grief, loss, and trauma. “Ari wants to be in a family, but she has not been in a family setting for a few years,” says Jason. “It will be a big adjustment, and a family should be patient and loving as she relearns what expectations and rules families have.” Her parents must be LGBTQ+ accepting and affirming. Ideal parents for Ari will be able to provide some structure for her will also be willing to be flexible and open to changes based on feedback from Ari.

“Ari is a great person who has a ton of potential,” says Jason. “She is capable of taking over the world and making it better one joke and smile at a time. She can be a joy to be around and will be a great addition to a family.”

Details to Note[email protected]

Due to contracts with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the cost of adopting a child from Minnesota foster care is virtually free to families.
