Meet Colby, a 13-year-old with an energetic and adventurous spirit. He loves Legos, watching movies, and playing outside, and is especially interested in rocks, insects, and other animals. He hopes to one day find a family who will take him on outdoor adventures and love him unconditionally. “Colby is a very sweet boy who loves to be loved,” says is Child Specific Recruiter, Sara.
Colby has experienced trauma and loss in his life, which has had a significant impact on his emotional and mental health. “Therapy will be crucial for his wellbeing,” says Sara. “His future family will need to be open to communication to help him navigate his feelings about trauma.”
Colby is a sweet, silly, thoughtful boy. He missed out on loving connections as a young child and really yearns to have that in his life. -Sara Jeske, Child Specific Recruiter
Colby expresses himself through a wide range of emotions and behaviors, some of which are aggressive. It will be important for his future family to proactively seek out services to help manage these behaviors and navigate these issues at home. Colby needs a lot of love, patience, support, supervision, and one-on-one attention. With the right support, access to mental health services, and love from family, Colby will thrive.
“He is a sweet, silly, thoughtful boy,” says Sara. “He loves to cuddle and be loved. He missed out on loving connections as a young child and really yearns to have that in his life.”
