Wednesday, April 15th from 5:30–7:30 pm (CT) via Microsoft Teams
Families are invited to join us for a meaningful and insightful conversation led by members of the Mankato Area Youth Leadership Council. During this virtual youth panel, young people will share their firsthand experiences navigating foster care placements, including the moments that supported them and the challenges they faced along the way.
Together, we will explore the importance of creating a welcoming transition for youth entering care, as well as the impact of nurturing, stable living environments. This session offers a unique opportunity for caregivers to hear directly from youth, deepen understanding, and strengthen supportive practices at home.
Participants will walk away with a greater awareness of youth perspectives and practical ideas for fostering trust, belonging, and emotional safety.

The Mankato Area Youth Leadership Council is a group of young people committed to improving the foster care system through advocacy, storytelling, and community leadership. Council members bring lived experience and a passion for strengthening foster care practices for future youth and families.
