Hello!

We are grateful to you for taking the time to get to know us!

Our names are Ronan and Crystal.  We have been married for 7 years.  We live in a suburb of Washington, DC with our loving dog, Thorin.  We have a lot of family nearby as well as around the country.  We love all of our nieces, nephews, and younger cousins, but have longed to have a child of our own.  We plan to raise our child in a loving, happy home.  We hope that our child feels empowered, supported, and encouraged throughout their whole life.

We know that this may be a confusing and challenging time as you decide the best future for you and your baby.  We are grateful that your love for your baby has led you to consider making an adoption plan.  We hope that you are surrounded by love and support throughout this journey.  If you choose to place your child with us, we will respect the level of openness that you desire.   We hope to nurture a relationship that will bring happiness to you both.

We are holding you both in our hearts and in our prayers.

ABOUT US:

We met in 2012 thanks to an online dating app.  We initially bonded over a shared love of the same band and frustration with DC traffic.  On our first date we debated favorite movie directors and authors.  As we got to know each other, we found we had more in common than our taste in entertainment.  We both greatly value family, our faith, and caring for others.  We married in 2014 at the church Crystal was working at.

We love living so close to Washington, DC.  There is never a shortage of things to do in the area.  We have access to the National Zoo, the Smithsonian Museums, live theater, concerts, and sports.  We enjoy trying different foods and can find most cuisines in our area.  We do like the quiet of our suburban neighborhood when we are home.   There are several trails nearby that we walk with our dog or ride our bikes on.  We have a community pool and enjoy spending time with our neighbors during the summer.

Ronan in his own words:

I was born in the Philippines and emigrated with my family to the United States when I was 5 years old.  We settled in the Washington, D.C. area and I have lived in the area for my entire life.  I attended undergrad at the University of Maryland at College Park where I studied political science and economics.  I had aspirations of going to law school after undergrad and, after several years as a paralegal, I was lucky enough to gain admission to Howard University in Washington, D.C., a historically black college and university.  My professional path led me to a small law firm where I still work today representing architects and engineers in construction disputes.

While I may have settled in the United States at a young age, I have a deep connection with my Filipino heritage.  Especially the food.  My fondest memories growing up were big family gatherings with a spread of delicious Filipino food fit for a king and queen.  I look forward to the day that our friends and family can come together again without the pandemic looming over our heads.   Crystal and I both love these gatherings where we can spend time with our families and we look forward to the day where we can share those special moments with our own child.

Crystal in her own words:

I grew up with two brothers.  Our dad’s job moved us around the country.  I lived in North Dakota, West Virginia, Idaho, Virginia, and Maryland, all prior to going to college.  I enjoyed seeing new places and meeting different people.  No matter where we were going, I knew I could count on my family.  As an adult, I have lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and finally settled back in Maryland in 2010.  I still love traveling, but am happy to have a settled home with Ronan to always return to.

I studied religion and worked as a youth pastor for many years.  I loved working with kids and encouraging them on their journeys.  I still hear from some of the kids, now young adults, that I mentored.  I now work as a legal assistant for patent and trademark attorneys.  I enjoy my work and that my schedule allows me more time at home with my family.

About our dog:

We adopted Thorin from our local shelter in 2016.  He is an American Staffordshire Terrier.  We think he is about 9 years old.  He is happiest cuddling one of us on the couch.  He is very gentle with kids and adores our nieces and nephews.
