Hello!  Thank you for taking the time to check out our profile.  We are David and Rebecca and we’ve been together fourteen years.  We bought our first home in the quiet city of Chanhassen in 2013 and welcomed Avery to our family in early 2016.  After an emergency C-section at 27 weeks, a four-month NICU stay and adjusting to parenthood, life slowed down and we realized that our family was not complete.  We are blessed to have a strong community of family and friends in Minnesota some of which have personal experience with adoption. We are surrounded by people who support us in our daily lives and in our decision to adopt. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption and to get to know you more!

OUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO AS A COUPLE:

DAVE (FROM REBECCA’s EYES):

HE HAS KIND EYES & A GOOD HEART.  While we were dating, my grandma was diagnosed with stomach cancer and Dave bought a plane ticket and flew home with me after her surgery.  He had only met her a couple of times, but he knew how much she meant to me and wanted to be there.  HE IS INCREDIBLY SUPPORTIVE.  We have been through many obstacles (long distance, family passing away, my medical history, Avery’s prematurity and Celiac disease, job changes) and he has been right there with me every step of the way.  HE IS HANDY & CREATIVE.  He loves fixing cars, doing repair projects around the house and building things.  Some of my most cherished memories are building our deck and kitchen table together.  Some of my favorite gifts he has made me are mixed CDs and string art of the Rocky Mountains to remember one of our favorite getaways.  HE IS HARD WORKING & DEVOTED.  Dave always puts in his best effort whether it is at work as an electrical engineer or at home as a husband and father.  He sets a goal and follows through like when he signed up for the Grandma’s marathon last year and trained for over 8 months to meet his goal.

REBECCA (FROM DAVE’S EYES):

Rebecca is a hard-working mechanical engineer with a passion for her profession. SHE IS VERY CARING with a wonderful attention to detail that always seems to make life extra special.  SHE GREATLY VALUES TIME WITH THE FAMILY and taking us on new adventures that draw us closer to each other. The big family Christmas vacation in Portland, Oregon and the special anniversary weekend in the Canadian Rockies are a few of the trips we remember fondly because of her INCREDIBLE INITIATIVE AND MOTIVATION to make things a reality.  ALWAYS THINKING OF OTHERS, Rebecca enjoys finding new opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community.  She has been involved in Habitat for Humanity in both Massachusetts and Minnesota.  Of her many great qualities, my personal favorite is her a passion for cooking and good food.  She is always on the look out for our next early morning breakfast joint, especially ones with good coffee and eggs benedict.

MEET AVERY.

This happy camper is four years old and showing more personality every day.  He is caring, helpful and curious about everything.  Avery is constantly singing, dancing, making jokes and laughing with his deep “old man” laugh.  He brings joy to everyone he encounters despite his tough start in life – born at 27 weeks and recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease.  He is full of life, strength and love which we know will help make him an amazing big brother.

OUR PROMISE TO OUR CHILD.

We promise to welcome you into our family with warm hearts and open arms. We will admire our shared interests and celebrate the unique qualities that make each one of us special. We promise to raise you in a home that is built on honesty, trust and forgiveness. We promise to remain open with your birth parents and continuously share their love with you. We will cherish every memory we create and each adventure we take. We promise to love you always and forever, no matter what.
