Our Story

We found each other during a moment of pause in our lives, but what followed was a journey of love and growth. We’ve learned that sometimes, when you least expect it, love can find you, and when it does, it’s a force that can conquer any distance or obstacle.

Our love story, starting with an online connection during Justin’s leave, has grown into an incredible bond that we treasure every day. As our relationship blossomed, we discovered a shared passion for exploring the world, a knack for trivia, and an unwavering desire to spend quality time with each other. Traveling together allowed us to create cherished memories in far-flung destinations, while trivia nights sparked friendly rivalries that brought them even closer.

About Lizz

I grew up in a small town north of the Metro. My family consisted of my mother, father, and little sister. My parents instilled in both my sister and I the importance of hard work and service to others from an early age. One of my favorite childhood memories would be going up to our family cabin in Canada with my Papa and Yaya. Family is super important to me. I went to college and graduated with a teaching degree in Special Education. While in college I became a paraprofessional at the school I now teach at. I love my job and the joys that education brings. During my time in college, I met Justin. In my free time you can find me reading, painting, hiking, and being with friends and family.

About Justin

I grew up with a large family. I have 1 sister, 2 half-sisters, 2 half-brothers, and 2 step-brothers. While there were difficulties with having that many siblings, there were more joys and memories to share between each of them. My family is very close on both sides, and we hang out at least once a month. Some of my favorite memories growing up include hanging out with my cousins every day and building a great friendship with them. At the end of high school, I decided to join the Marines Corps. I served for 5 years before getting medically discharged. I have learned a lot of things throughout my time as a Marine and have so much to be thankful for. I met Lizz during my last year of service. Once I completed my service, I went to college to get my certificate for HVAC. I am now a building maintenance manager at our local YMCA and love all the new projects each day brings. In my free time you can find me DIYing our home, building Legos, playing video games, or spending time with family and friends.

Our Adoption Plan

We’ve always recognized that adoption would play a significant role in our journey and have embraced it as a means of expansion. Coming from families that prioritize quality time and have been supportive of our personal development, we feel fortunate. As we establish our own family, we will adjust our hobbies and interests to nurture our children, aiming to offer them a diverse set of skills, experiences, and opportunities that contribute to their growth into the best versions of themselves.
