We first want to acknowledge that this is an extremely hard process, and we want to let you know how strong and brave we already know you are. We want to thank you for taking the time to look at our profile, and we hope that our family can fit into your baby’s birth plan.

About Sara and Meghan:

Hi! We are Meghan and Sara, and we live in Minneapolis with our 3 fur children, Pops (cat) and Luke and Scarlett (dogs). We met in 2016 and we have not looked back since. Sara is originally from the Chicagoland area, and moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after a short stay in Madison, WI. Meghan is originally from southern Minnesota, and moved up to the Twin Cities in 2012. Living in Minnesota, we feel we really need to take advantage of the outdoors, so some things we enjoy doing include kayaking, hiking, camping and snowshoeing. We have traveled domestically to many places, but have also adventured abroad where we hope to take our children one day to immerse themselves in other cultures, something we feel we did not get enough of as children. Separately, Sara likes to read and workout. She is an avid runner, running in 4 marathons in her life time, and multiple other races. She enjoys going to comedy shows and sporting events on the weekends (Go Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks!), and she enjoys spending time with her family, biological and chosen. Meghan loves spending time doing anything that has to do with arts and crafts, especially working on wood projects for the house and her “she-shed”. She enjoys working out and training, specifically for the inline skating marathons that she just recently found her passion for.

Meet Meghan (in Sara’s words):

Meghan is goofy, passionate, energized (like the battery bunny), and full of love. I fell in love with Meghan for all four of those reasons; also, because I knew the moment we said “I love you”, that she was the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with. The first few months of our story, she spent showing me that life didn’t have to be a step by step guide; that it was ok to not follow the directions. She loved to adventure, and I had never found anyone to bring out the adventure side in me as she did. She is passionate about her people, but also about her career. She knew what her trajectory was, and I was impressed to know that she had a plan. I was able to see Meghan through the beginning stages as an EMT and On Call Fire Fighter, trek through the toughness and long hours of paramedic school with excellence, and then eventually land her dream job. To be there next to her throughout the whole process showed me that when Meghan puts her heart into something or someone, she is dedicated and willing to make it work, no matter what. I am so glad that Meghan chose me to do life with, and I am confident that she will make a fun, adventurous, loving, caring and dedicated mother.

Meet Sara (in Meghan’s words):

Sara is by far the most driven, patient, caring, and selfless person I have ever met. She is the type of person that always has a plan and will see it through that everything gets done. I have never met another human that can deal with all my crazy ideas and spur of the moment adventures and Sara embraces them with open arms. My favorite thing about Sara is how hard she loves. Once Sara builds a connection, there is no breaking that bond, just ask our fur children Pops, Scarlett, and Luke! When I say she is a driven woman, it is an understatement. I have had the pleasure of being by her side while she smashed education goals (obtaining her master’s degree) and made an incredible impact with her roles and responsibilities at work. Sara even helped start and drive a newsletter at work that gives resources and helps educate others in the Queer Community and she was invited to speak at the Out and Equal conference. I could go on and on about Sara and all her accomplishments, but we’d run out of paper! Sara is everything that I could imagine needing in a partner to parent a child with. She is going to show her passion, her love, and her never ending support to raise our child(ren) to be as successful and happy as possible. I cannot wait to see Sara become a mother and I am SO lucky we will be on the same team, doing this together.

Our vision as parents:

We will show the upmost love and support to our future child(ren). To us, that means being able to support them emotionally, physically, and financially. We want our child(ren) to know and feel that they can come to us with anything. We believe that openness, honesty and communication are key in all relationships. We want to support our child’s culture, so we will do the learning to help them navigate how to celebrate and be a part of it. As they grow up and get older, we will support them in becoming the individual that they want to be. We will ask the tough questions and have those hard conversations with them out of love, respect, and safety. We don’t want to draw our child’s path, but we want to be there for them if they need help along the way.

When we envision our family, we see our child(ren) traveling with us. We want to immerse them in cultures that we have yet to explore and enjoy family time while doing so. Sara’s family had Friday night game nights every week growing up and she would love to bring that tradition into her family. As of right now, we do not have many family traditions, but we want that to change once we start growing our family.
