Colby is a quirky, kind and empathetic 17-year-old waiting for his forever home. He loves meeting new people, playing video games and watching movies. He also loves the outdoors and enjoys taking walks, collecting rocks and being near water.

Colby’s favorite subject in school is science and he loves to learn how things work “I have learned that Colby is very inquisitive and thoughtful,” says Sara, his child specific recruiter (CSR).“ He thinks of other’s feelings in each specific situation. He is very fun and playful and loves to make new connections.”
When picturing his forever home, Colby thinks he would thrive in a structured environment. “An ideal family would be a single or two parent foster home that provides a lot of one-on-one time,” says Sara. Colby does best with set boundaries and when he can be notified if plans change. It is also important for him to maintain a relationship with his grandmother.
Colby would do best with a family that is focused on his education and behavioral health needs. While Colby is open to any placement, he prefers the suburbs and would do best without animals in the home. Colby has made great strides in his older teenage years and would do best with a future family would keep him on this trajectory by providing him with one-on-one attention, patience, motivation and positive reinforcement. The best way a future family can support him would be to continue his therapy appointments and by being present.
“Colby is a wonderful, loyal, kind and funny kid. He would be a great addition to any family that is open to welcoming an older teen into their home,” says Sara. Because Colby is turning 18-years-old in May of 2026, he is also open to anyone willing to mentor him while in his group home.
