Meet Trinity: An Adventurous and Loyal 17-Year-Old!

August 5, 2026 by Mat Brutger

Trinity is 17 years old and is resourceful, adventurous and loyal. She likes to garden and especially enjoys growing fruits and vegetables, even though she does not like eating them! At school, Trinity enjoys math and art class the most.

Outside of school, Trinity likes to stay active. She enjoys exploring new parks, going on walks, going swimming and rollerblading. If weather forces her inside, she does enjoy baking as well. Trinity also enjoys anime and her favorite show is Demon Slayer.

Trinity would do best with female caregivers and being the only child in the home. “Trinity is a teen that needs patience, validation and commitment from her caregivers,” says her child specific recruiter (CSR) Quinn. She would prefer to stay in the Metro area and would love a home with pets that she can help care for. While Trinity enjoys her independence and having time for herself, it is important to her to have family meals together to really connect.

Trinity has siblings and it is important that she maintains those relationships. “Because of Trinity’s past, she can experience distrust of caregivers,” says Quinn. “She will need a family who will be patient and understanding of this and give her time to adjust.” Trinity also has had bad experiences in the past around church and it is important that she finds a family who does not attend church or would not expect Trinity to attend.

A future family for Trinity can best support her by giving her space when she needs it. “Trinity is strong-willed and knows what she wants,” says Quinn. Trinity just wants to have that connection and feeling of normalcy doing “typical” family things.

Details to Note
Due to contracts with the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families, the cost of adopting a child from Minnesota foster care is virtually free to families.
