What do birth parents wish foster, adoptive and kinship caregivers understood about their experiences? Are there messages or practices that, while well-intended, may unintentionally cause harm to other members of the adoption triad? Join Kelly Tronstad, Executive Director of Bellis, and Becca Underhill, Education Manager at Children’s Home, for an honest and thought-provoking conversation exploring the perspectives of birth parents and ways to foster greater understanding, empathy and connection.

Kelly Tronstad, M. Ed. & LPFE, is the Executive Director at Bellis. Kelly started Bellis’ online Stronger Together Peer Support™ programming in July 2021 before moving to Executive Director in February 2024. She continues to facilitate one of the weekly online groups to stay connected to the people and mission she cares so deeply about.

Becca Underhill has been an Education Manager with Children’s Home since November 2019. In this role, she has served as a trainer for prospective foster and adoptive parents, a facilitator of Parent Support Groups and a leader of various youth adoption education programs. Having built her family through adoption in 2012, she understands the importance of connection with other foster and adoptive families.
