Marcelino, or Lino as he likes to be called, is a charming and outgoing 14-year-old who loves learning new sports. He especially loves playing basketball and staying connected to his brothers.
Outside of school, Marcelino enjoys playing video games and the card game Magic the Gathering. Marcelino’s child specific recruiter (CSR), Colleen says he is very empathic and wears his heart on his sleeve. “He presents a very tough exterior but has a heart of gold and show his emotions naturally,” says Colleen.

When thinking about his forever home, Marcelino would do best in a two-parent household in the suburbs near his siblings. He loves animals and would do well with pets in the home. Marcelino identifies as Native American and Hispanic. It’s important to Marcelino that a family can support his heritage. Marcelino would also like his own room and other kids in the home to socialize with. “Lino is part of a large sibling group and has frequent visits with them. It is very important that a family is willing to build, organize and prioritize a relationship with his siblings and their families,” says Colleen.
Marcelino would thrive in a home that has structure, consistency and willingness to collaborate with his service providers. Marcelino would also do well with a family that encourages him to attend support groups and therapy. “Lino has had a challenging year seeing his siblings get adopted while he waits for his forever home, and he can get down on himself,” says Colleen. Marcelino can be best supported by potential parents by reassuring their love and support and reminding him that he’s important and has a forever home. Marcelino enjoys social time but also enjoys spending time to himself. He would do best with a family who is not going to push him too much out of his comfort zone and allow him to spend time alone.
“Lino is an amazing kiddo and would make a great addition to a family. He’s so sweet and outgoing, compassionate and always willing to help as much as he can,” says Colleen.
