Adoption Support Fund

Helping to Form and Connect Families

At Children’s Home and LSS we recognize that there can be financial barriers to Adoption and to accessing Post Adoption Services.

While families may have the means to add a child to their family, they don’t necessarily have the finances available upfront to meet the cost of adoption. Additionally, there can be financial barriers for adoptees and birth parents who wish to use post adoption services.

The Adoption Support Fund is our in-house grant program, awarding recipients a grant that fully or partially covers their service fees. Grants range from $20 – $10,000. Smaller grants typically help parents adopting relatives from our Foster Care Adoption program cover expenses not covered by our state contracts (ex: background checks, transportation assistance, bedroom set up, etc.). In general, we prioritize adoption grants for families who are adopting relatives, sibling groups, school-age children and children of all ages with identified needs. Post Adoption grants typically cover the full cost of services such as search and reunion, record retrevial, etc.

“Of all the hardships borne through this adoption process, the uncertainty of money has been the hardest and the relief of your assistance is immeasurable.” -Adoptive Mother

Grants are available to individuals using the services of CH/LSS only. You can request an adoption support fund application by contacting us at [email protected].

You can support this critical fund by contributing today! Your gift will help to offset the expenses for an adoptive family, adoptee or birth family using one of our adoption services.
