A Support Group for Adoptees Ages 5-13
In our adoptee support groups, we engage in age-appropriate discussions and activities to help build connections among adoptees. Each group is open to adopted children and their families, regardless of placing agency. In addition to the Adoptee Group, a corresponding Parent Group will take place at the same time.
Groups meet monthly on Saturdays from September-May (excluding December). Our 2025-2026 groups will meet in person at the Children’s Home Main Office, 1605 Eustis Street, Saint Paul, MN 55108 on September 13, October 11, November 8th, January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9th
Group Meeting Times:
• Lollipop Group (younger children): 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
• Bubblegum Group (older children): 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Please note: Peer and age groups will be determined based on the ages of children who register.
Adoptee Groups:
The groups are broken into different sessions by age, and within each session children may be divided into smaller groups based on their age. Sessions will include fun activities on topics such as how to be a good friend, what makes a family, tough feelings and calming strategies, handling comments about adoption and more!
Parent Group:
While the children meet, a corresponding parent session takes place for parents to listen and learn from each other. The parent group session will focus on a mixture of education and support, including topics such as “calm bodies through occupational therapy and the body”, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), parenting and technology, encouraging healthy relationships/boundaries, and more. Topics will be parent-focused to the parents that participate in the group.
Cost:
The cost to attend this eight-session support group is $225 per child and includes the cost of the corresponding parent session that meets at the same time as each adoptee support group. Families can register additional adopted children for this support group at a cost of $100 per additional child.

Billing:
After registering, you will receive an invoice for payment (typically within 2 business days). Payments are non-refundable.
Childcare:
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare for younger/older siblings during group meeting times. We ask that only children who are registered for the group attend along with their parent(s). Thank you for your understanding.
