Hello! We’re Ang, Greg and Sam from western Minnesota. Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about our little family. There is no way for us to know what you are going through right now, but we have so much admiration for you. Thank you for considering adoption and we hope you have the support you need to help you decide what is best for you and your child. We look forward to learning more about you.

Our Family

We were married in 2015 and after a few years of battling infertility issues, we began our adoption adventure. We met a wonderful expecting mother through friends and in 2019 we adopted our son Sam! We are very close with his birth family and love that he will grow up knowing his siblings and birth mother.

We have been blessed with a great life together. It has been full of fun and laughter, as well as more tears and heartache than we could have ever imagined. We have learned that we can get through anything that is put in our way, which has led us to where we are now… the road to adoption. We have always hoped for a larger family besides us and the dogs, one that includes children that we can love and share our experiences with. Our dream is to have children that can grow up surrounded by family and friends, on this beautiful countryside, with plenty of room to run, explore and play.

About Greg

Greg grew up in rural west central Minnesota. He is a fifth-generation farmer and really enjoys his work. He is the oldest of three children, loves the outdoors and his dog Mya. He is a great cook and baker, and enjoys woodworking and hunting. Greg and Sam like to go on drives around the countryside looking for wildlife – they see a lot of deer, turkeys and pheasants! He’s very tall, 6’ 5”! It’s hard to take family pictures because Ang is a full foot shorter than him. Greg enjoys watching and attending hockey games, whether it be our friends’ kids’ game or the MN Wild. He loves United States history, checking out museums and visiting National Parks.

About Ang

Ang grew up in the Twin Cities, is also the oldest of three children, loves the outdoors and her dog Clavin. She is a stay-at-home mom and works part time as a graphic designer. She graduated from the University of MN-Duluth and hopes to have a cabin in the northland someday. She loves being crafty, catching up with friends and family and planning family trips. The itineraries usually have some crazy activity like digging for diamonds at a state park and a variety of food stops that were found on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. When she has time, she likes to dig around in her flower gardens and try new recipes from her mountain of cookbooks.

About Sam

We adopted Sam as an infant from Arkansas. He has grown up to be a very energetic toddler who absolutely loves living on a farm. He wants to do everything that his dad is doing, including riding in the tractor for hours on end. He loves all kinds of food, swimming, throwing the ball for his dogs, and playing with other kids. We have a great open adoption and communicate with his birth mom and siblings a few times a week.  Sam tries to video chat with Grandma and Grandpa every few days during snack time and loves heading to the park in town to go down the biggest slide he can find. He is going to be such a great big brother some day!

We love our family traditions!

  • We enjoy cooking and baking. Every Thanksgiving we invite both sides of the family over for a huge meal.
  • We prefer road trips when we travel so we can stop at any and every crazy place that catches our eye.
  • We collect smashed pennies when we travel. It’s a fun, inexpensive way of remembering where we’ve been!
  • At Christmas time, Greg bakes and Ang decorates dozens and dozens of cookies to share with loved ones.
  • We are starting to make our own family Christmas traditions, like cutting down a Christmas tree and reading The Night Before Christmas together after we put out milk and cookies for Santa.
  • Summertime means it’s fair time! We enjoy trying new foods, walking through the animal barns and spending an entire day at the Minnesota State Fair. 11 hours is our record!
  • Summertime also means a trip to Duluth to hike, visit friends and family, and relax by Lake Superior.
  • We have a huge vegetable garden in the backyard. We’re able to harvest our own food and love to share it with others! We can and freeze as much as possible so we can enjoy it year-round.
  • We travel to Arkansas every February to spend time with Sam’s birth family. It’s one of our favorite things to look forward to. Open adoption is an amazing thing and so much greater than we ever expected.

We promise to:

  • Provide a safe, happy, fun and loving home for our children.
  • Encourage our children to chase their goals and dreams.
  • Give our children unconditional love and support.
  • Be an advocate for our children with their health and education.
  • Encourage exploration, discovery, creativity and reading.
  • Keep in touch with you, however and whenever you desire.
  • Raise our children to follow the Golden Rule: Treat Others the Way You Want To Be Treated.
  • Be open and honest about our children’s adoption stories with them from the start. They will always know where they came from and how much they are loved.
  • Share our love of travel, adventure, the great outdoors and dogs.

Thank you so much for taking the time getting to know us; we look forward to getting to know more about you. Please reach out to us or our social worker at CHLSS if you have any questions or would like to know more about us.
