Hi! We are Jeremy and Kendra, and along with our son Vinny, we are a loving family of three from SE Minnesota. We are overjoyed that you are taking time to look over our story!

We adore children and want to provide a safe, fun, and happy home to a child through adoption. Vinny is so excited to have a brother or sister! OUR STORY

We’ve been blessed with a strong sense of commitment in our marriage and a passion to continually better ourselves. We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year!

Both of us love children. Whether we’re having our niece and nephews over to play, working in pediatric nursing (one of Kendra’s past jobs), coaching youth basketball (Jeremy), or rocking babies in our church nursery (both of us), children mean the world to us!

Our 4-bedroom house has lots of space to run around, complete with a vacuum-chasing French Bulldog named Buttercup. Our son enjoys setting up his soccer nets in our fenced back yard, and we even see baby birds in the nest under our deck during springtime.

 

MEET KENDRA (BY JEREMY)

When I first met Kendra, I knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I was so drawn to the kindness in her smile and the gentle way she has with people. She’s the kind of person who will help you become a better version of yourself. Her compassion for others is amazing and I’m honored to call her my wife and best friend.

Kendra’s favorites: Purple tulips, Sushi date night, Rainy days cuddling by the fireplace, Photographing people and pets, Visiting the aquarium, Making tie dye shirts with Vinny, Taking Buttercup to DQ for a “pup cup,” and Going on walks as a family after supper.

Kendra’s occupation: Part time Dialysis Nurse, Part time stay-at-home mom

Hobbies: Photography, Crafts, Making homemade sushi, Community Education classes with Vinny

 

MEET JEREMY (BY KENDRA)

Jeremy is one of the most steadfast people I know. His commitment to us as a family is impressive. The way he interacts with Vinny puts my heart at ease, because I know that Vinny will grow up to be a man of integrity like his dad. Jeremy is a thinker and a planner. He likes to plan Disney trips and makes vacations so special. He’s the most amazing husband to me, and dad to Vinny!

Jeremy’s favorites: Going on nature hikes, Planning vacations to the ocean or to Disney parks, Getting donuts on Saturday mornings, Coaching youth sports (especially basketball), Buying a new pair of Nike socks, Wrestling with Vinny, Doing silly voices for Buttercup, Going on date night to a new restaurant.

Jeremy’s occupation: Manager at a hospital (Works from his home office)

Hobbies: Hiking at parks, Planning fun vacations, Coaching sports, Playing Softball

 

MEET OUR SON VINNY

Vinny (age 7) brings so much joy to our home with his delightful laugh and love for life. He prays each night that he can have a sibling. He is so gentle and caring with younger kids like his little cousin. Vinny’s favorite activities include scooter and bike rides, reading books about animals, playing video games on weekends, making pizza with mom, building Legos with dad, bouncing on our mini trampoline, and playing with his five cousins. He does well setting goals and working hard to meet them. Last summer he completed a 70-book reading challenge and earned a Lego set of his choice, great job Vin!

Hobbies: Soccer, Piano Lessons, Fuse bead art, Swinging in the back yard, Making homemade ice cream, Swimming with his cousins

 

MEET OUR DOG BUTTERCUP

Buttercup was a surprise gift from Kendra to Jeremy for his birthday one year. Jeremy had always talked about getting a French bulldog, so Kendra planned for months to make his dream come true. He was in shock and so amazed to get such an awesome dog! He named her Princess Buttercup after one of his favorite movies “The Princess Bride.”

Where there’s food, you’ll find Butters looking up with her big puppy-dog eyes, asking for a treat. She loves to run around at the dog park or go to Petco to pick out a new toy. She is amazingly friendly and gentle with kids and has grown up alongside our son. They’re so cute together! Buttercup is goofy, lazy, cuddly, and drooly and we wouldn’t want it any other way.  What a good girl!

OUR GOALS AS PARENTS

We strive to teach our child…

• To be confident and able to function independently as an adult, with many life skills
• To put God first in all aspects of life
• To be secure in who they are and know they are loved unconditionally
• To feel safe, valued, loved, and cherished
• To know where they come from and have knowledge of their background and culture
• To be a compassionate, respectful, and honorable person
• To feel comfortable talking with us about their ideas and concerns (that we will be receptive listeners and open to discussions about any questions they have about life)

OUR FAITH AND VALUES

As a Christian family, our faith in God is very important to us. Our desire is to help others see the love and grace that God offers. We attend an Assembly of God church with a wonderful children’s department. Vinny is so excited to go to Sunday school each week!

Values that we want to instill in our children:  kindness, integrity, faith, honesty, respect, and compassion.

Making time for our extended family is a priority. Both sides of our family live just a few miles from our house, so our support circle is big! Our family gatherings have included a giant 24-pound turkey at Thanksgiving, a 12-foot-tall tree at Christmas (complete with a train that circles the tree), and a Florida beach vacation together.
