Hi! We are Kristi & Lars.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We can’t wait to get to know you. We are all about family, friends, being good people in this world, and being grateful for all the adventures that life brings. What is important to you? What are your values? Let’s start a conversation.

How it Started…
Having both been married before, we knew what we were looking for when we met each other through a mutual friend. We hit it off right away. Our first long conversation was about the importance of being a good partner in a relationship.

How it’s Going…
We dated for 2 years before buying a house together in Inver Grove Heights in 2015.  A little less than a year later, in 2016, we were married. We love cooking and entertaining  together, traveling, going to see live music, downhill skiing, playing cards and games, and spending time with the people we love.

Our Hope for the Future…
Family is really important to both of us. We are so lucky to be a part of families that love us and support us. We have always wanted to have a family of our own. After deep consideration, we believe that adoption is the perfect fit for us and can’t wait to begin the adventure of being adoptive parents.

Our Relationship with You….
We are flexible and respectful of your preferences, whether that means regular contact and visits, sharing milestones and photos, or a more closed arrangement, if that is what you prefer. We are also open to developing our relationship over time. Our hope would be to grow our family in a healthy way for the child and you, and that all families (including birth family) be treated with respect and love.

Speaking of Family…
Much of our family lives nearby (10-30 minutes away) and we get together often for dinners, game nights, watching sports, playing cards, swimming in the pool, and golfing. We feel lucky that we both enjoy each other’s families and spending time with them is a joy!

We travel at least once a year with Kristi’s family. Some trips have been to the North Shore, MN, ski trips to Montana and Colorado, and a few years ago, Kristi’s whole family traveled to Denmark to spend time with Lars’ family.

Lars’ family is split between Denmark and Minnesota. Lars works with his brother, and his family is also in Inver Grove Heights. We try to go to Denmark at least once a year to spend time with his dad and his sister and her family.

Our animals are also a part of our family. We have a Bernese Mountain Dog, Islay, two cats, Tigger and Twister, and 2 fish tanks. We love our animals!

Our Home
We live in the quiet suburb of Inver Grove Heights. We are in that perfect spot of being close to the city but have space to spread out and it is quiet. We live on a little more than an acre at the end of a cul-de-sac.  The library, community center, police station, schools and a few big parks are all within a 10-minute drive of our neighborhood.

Kristi has a big garden where she grows all sorts of vegetables and fruits. Lars is a great cook and together we make all sorts of good food from the garden.

• Hobbies & Interests
  I enjoy gardening, hiking, scuba diving, singing and playing flute in my cover band, theater, reading, puzzles of all sorts, crafting with friends, and a good crime thriller tv series. I am also learning to speak Danish (It’s hard!).
• What Does Lars Say?
  I admire Kristi for her warmth, kindness, and intelligence. I am grateful for her presence in my life, she makes me a better person and she is my best friend. She enjoys helping and tries to make sure everyone feels included. She and I make a great team. Kristi has a great smile and kind eyes, and she brings joy and comfort not only to me but to everyone we know. She makes everyone feel special and cherished.

• Hobbies & Interests
  I enjoy playing hockey, skiing, golf, household projects, cooking, and entertaining. I like watching action movies and crime thrillers with Kristi.
• What Does Kristi Say?
  Lars is kind, generous, thoughtful, and calm. He is very handy, likes to stay active, and is always working to make our home and yard a better place! He has many friends and his positive energy is hard to beat.  People trust him and come to him for advice. Lars is one of those kinds of people that other people want to be around, and they gravitate toward him wherever he goes.

Our Values
We believe in parenting with kindness, consistency, and clear expectations. Core values we hope to instill include respect, honesty, and emotional resilience. We value nurturing a child’s unique strengths and interests. We are excited to show up consistently for our child in all situations. We believe in encouraging children to try their best, and if they lose or make a mistake, to do so gracefully. We understand that adoption may bring unique challenges, and we feel prepared to meet those with patience, openness, and a strong support system.
