Orphanage Assistance
A longstanding effort Children’s Home, Colombia’s Orphanage Assistance project helps orphaned and abandoned children from across Colombia receive the quality care and services they deserve. It also helps organizations to provide family preservation programming such as parenting classes, lodging, and skill development for unwed mothers.
Contributions help to provide: food, clothing, skills training, medical care, education, therapies, and other ongoing needs of several orphanages and private adoption homes. Below is a list of organizations that may receive contributions through this project. Should you choose to designate your gift to a particular orphanage/home, please indicate that on the donation form.
Casa de Maria y el Niño (Medellín): Established in 1981, provides protection, guidance, strengthening and support to vulnerable children and families.
Casa de la Madre y el Niño (Bogotá): Provides care, protection, and adoption services for children up to age eight, as well as comprehensive and respectful pregnancy support services at their maternity home.
Hogar Bambi Chiquitines (Cali): Provides comprehensive care for children infant to 12 years of age and victims of domestic violence.
Fundación Fundamor (Cali): Established in 1992, provides care for children infant to 18 years old with HIV/AIDS. Additionally they provide HIV education, awareness and prevention services, micro-loan and socioeconomic development projects, and family preservation services to the community.
Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF): Colombia’s Central Authority governing adoption provides care, protection, therapeutic intervention, skills training and adoption services for children of all ages under their protection. Additionally, ICBF provides care of people in all stages of life through various other national and regional social programs.
La Casita de Nicholás (Medellín): Provides protection and adoption services for abandoned and abused children up to ten years old.
Fundación Hogar San Mauricio (Bogotá): Provides a safe, nurturing home for orphaned and abandoned children alongside adoption and family preservation services.
