Tamiea is a funny and outgoing 15-year-old girl who enjoys playing with dogs, going on walks, cooking, swimming and doing her makeup. Her favorite subject in school is art class because she enjoys making arts and crafts.
An ideal weekend for Tamiea would include going out to eat and a fun activity like visiting a museum, shopping, hiking or watching a scary movie. She also loves spending time with animals. Tamiea and her child specific recruiter, Hayley, often visit the Animal Humane Society as part of their monthly visits. “She loves petting cats and dogs and giving them treats,” says Hayley. “She would love to have a dog in her future placement!”
When thinking about her forever home, Tamiea would prefer living in either the city or the suburbs, with a mom and a dad. She would do best with older siblings in a pet-friendly household. An ideal family for Tamiea would help provide structure and consistency in her day-to-day life and understand her complex past challenges. She will also need least one caregiver who has a flexible schedule and can accompany her to her appointments on a regular basis.
“Tamiea has a few siblings and other family members that she wishes to maintain relationships with, if it is safe and appropriate,” says Hayley. This can be supported by a forever family who is able to provide consistency in helping Tamiea build and maintain healthy relationships
“Tamiea faces some behavioral and psychological health challenges,” says Hayley. “Her forever family can best support her by maintaining the services she is currently active in, such as therapy, CADI case management, skills work, and a level 3 IEP. She has moderate behavioral and learning needs and, at times, severe needs.”
A family needs to be consistent in maintaining structure in the household, continuing services and consistently showing Tamiea love, patience and care. “Tamiea is ready to find her forever home and is starting to lose hope. She is a bright, kind, and caring teenager that would thrive from consistent and loving caregivers,” says Hayley.
Details to Note
