We’re an active East Central Minnesota couple with a love for adventure and making memories together. We dream of seeing the world through the eyes of a child and creating a home filled with unconditional love, laughter, curiosity, and belonging through adoption.

Our Story

We met online in 2017 and instantly connected. Conversation came easily and we laughed a lot. We quickly realized we shared the same work ethic and family values. We have been happily married since 2019 and love the life we’ve built together on our acreage just north of the Twin Cities. Dan works as a Superintendent of Utilities for a local municipality, where he enjoys serving his community and solving problems each day. Nicole is a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist at her family’s practice, where she has the privilege of helping patients improve their health and well-being. We both enjoy meaningful careers while making family our highest priority, and we look forward to sharing our home, our love, and our lives with a child.

What We Love to Do Together

We are a very active couple and love spending our weekends together. Depending on the season, you can find us working in our yard or garden, tinkering in the garage, hiking through our woods, camping, exploring new places, snowshoeing, or visiting family and friends. During Minnesota’s cold winter months, we enjoy slowing down with a game of cribbage by the fire and watching a good movie. We look forward to the day when our weekends include little footsteps beside us—sharing adventures, making memories, and creating family traditions that our child will treasure for years to come.

Dan’s Hobbies

I enjoy spending my free time golfing, hunting, riding my motorcycle, and tinkering on projects in the pole barn. I also love working in the yard and helping out at the family farm, where there’s always something to fix, build, or improve. More than anything, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with family and friends. Whether it’s grilling together, celebrating holidays, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, I value the moments that bring everyone together.

Nicole’s Hobbies

I enjoy spending my free time reading, gardening, canning the food I grow, quilting, making my own Kombucha and taking walks or hiking through the woods with Theadore (our spoiled dog). My new-found hobby is making natural laundry detergent, dish soap and bar soap, I am always trying to make our house more natural, welcoming and “crunchy” as Dan likes to call it. My job can be very busy, so I enjoy slowing down to appreciate the simple things in life and I find joy in creating, learning, and spending time outdoors.

Our Traditions

The traditions that are most important to us are the ones we grew up with and look forward to sharing with our future child. Every Christmas, we celebrate with family, cut down our own Christmas tree, decorate together, and bake Christmas cookies. Dan has even been known to play Santa Claus for our community and our family! We also love dyeing Easter eggs, carving pumpkins in the fall, and celebrating all of life’s special moments together. We look forward to including a child in these traditions and creating many new ones together as a family.

Theadore

Theadore is our 4-year-old, 5-pound Yorkie we rescued. He is very spoiled and can’t wait to be a big brother! He is very good with kids of all ages. He loves to play fetch, go for walks, take bike rides, help mom in the garden, and is the world’s best cuddler.

Our Circle

Our child will be surrounded by a loving and supportive community from the very beginning. We are incredibly blessed to have close relationships with both of our families and a wonderful circle of friends who are excited to welcome another child into their lives. Both sets of grandparents are experienced, loving, and thrilled to add another grandchild to the family. Our child will grow up alongside cousins ranging in age from 2 to 20, creating lifelong memories through holidays, family gatherings, and everyday adventures. We also have a close-knit group of friends with young children who regularly get together for playdates, camping trips, and celebrations. And, of course, there will always be animals around to love, cuddle, and grow up with!
