Meet Jamie, an outgoing, adventurous, and caring fifth-grader. This naturally curious ten-year-old is always up for the challenge of learning new things. When there is something that Jamie doesn’t understand, she is willing to ask questions to help figure it out and will continue to work at it until she feels like she understands.
When she’s not at school, Jamie loves making crafts, singing, exploring the outdoors, spending time with people she loves, and shopping. An ideal weekend for Jamie would include spending time with her siblings, going swimming in the lake, exploring the outdoors, and doing arts and crafts. Jamie would also enjoy getting her nails done and having a “spa day.”
“There are so many things that are special about Jamie,” says her Child Specific Recruiter, Amber. “One of the most special things about her is how she is able to make a connection with anyone she meets. In my work with Jamie, she has never not connected with someone she’s talked to. Jamie will always have things to talk about with others and this is what makes her able to build connections so easily. Many people in Jamie’s life have shared with me that she is such an enjoyable person to connect with!”
When thinking about Jamie’s future family, Amber says, “Jamie would do best in a two-parent family with no younger children in the home. She has shared that she would like pets (dogs or cats) in the home, to live in a rural area, and to live by the lake.” It would be important for Jamie’s future family to be open to keeping her in consistent contact with her other two siblings.
Above all, Jamie needs a family who can provide consistency, support, and encouragement. “Jamie really needs to feel like she is being supported and encouraged,” says Amber.
Although Jamie has her struggles, she is such an enjoyable youth to be around. “People never have a hard time connecting and getting to know Jamie because she will tell her what is on her mind. Jamie loves to interact with adults and form those supportive connections. Any family would be lucky to have Jamie join them and bring her great personality!” says Amber.
