JJ is nine years old and is a goofy, kind and loving person. He loves to swim, watch funny videos on his tablet, go to the park and listen to music.
On a day off from school, JJ would enjoy starting out with a bowl of cereal or oatmeal while watching a show on his tablet. Then he might like a trip to the pool or lake to swim. JJ also enjoys going to the park or playing with his toys at home. He also enjoys watching movies and TV.
JJ would do best in a two-parent household and would do well with other children and pets. “JJ requires a lot of medical services and would need a home that can accommodate all the services he needs,” says his child specific recruiter (CSR) Hayley. JJ’s home should have close access to medical services, as he utilizes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neurology, psychiatry and other services. “It would also be best if his future caregivers have experience caring for a child with higher medical needs and be open to making home and vehicle accommodations,” says Hayley.
It is important that a future family for JJ also helps him maintain his connection to his heritage as he grows up. He does not have current contact with birth family members, but a prospective family must be open to future contact if appropriate.
“JJ would love to be a part of a family,” says Hayley. “He is the most loving little boy and lights up any room he is in. He is super sweet and loves hugs.” A loving, dedicated and nurturing family will help JJ continue to learn, grow and explore the world.

Due to contracts with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the cost of adopting a child from Minnesota foster care is virtually free to families.
