Meet Kieony, a clever, funny, and caring teen who loves jokes, games, and building Legos.
“Kieony is a gifted student and excels at math and science,” says Hayley, his Child Specific Recruiter. Whether in school or at home, he is curious about the world and enjoys learning new things. If he could go anywhere in the world, he would explore the deepest parts of the ocean. “A lot of the ocean is undiscovered,” says Kieony, “and I want to be the one to discover it!”
When thinking about his future forever family, Hayley says, “Kieony would thrive in a two-parent household in the city or suburbs and would do well with pets. He prefers to have no other siblings in in the home.”
An ideal family for Kieony would be able to provide structure, consistency, and routine to his daily life. They will also need to have patience and allow time for him to build trust in new family relationships. A potential family will also need to have a flexible schedule in order to meet Kieony’s emotional, behavior, and service needs.
Kieony is a sweet and caring young teen and would be a great addition to the right family. He is looking forward to having the stability and unconditional love of a forever family. —Hayley Persons, Child Specific Recruiter
Kieony struggles with the effects of trauma and has behavioral needs that a family would need to support. It is important that his adoptive family has an understanding of trauma and the ability to maintain services for Kieony such as therapy.
An ideal family day for Kieony would include playing board games, building Legos, hiking, trying new foods, doing puzzles and playing basketball or football. “He loves trying new activities and is open to almost everything,” says Hayley.
“Kieony is a sweet and caring young teen and would be a great addition to the right family,” says Hayley. “He is looking forward to having stability and unconditional love in a forever family and wants to be out of the foster care system and be adopted.”
Details to Note
Due to contracts with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the cost of adopting a child from Minnesota foster care is virtually free to families.
