Saphira is a 12-year-old who is kind and social. She has a wonderful imagination and enjoys creating stories and engaging in pretend play. Saphira enjoys animals, swimming, exploring thrift stores and any activities that allow her to interact with people and try new experiences.
Saphira thrives when learning is engaging, structured and hands-on. Outside of school, she enjoys going for walks and spending time with others. She enjoys community outings and opportunities to explore new places while making meaningful connections. “Her ability to bring creativity and fun into everyday moments helps her connect with others,” says Saphira’s child specific recruiter (CSR) Mattea.

Saphira would thrive in a stable two-parent household that can provide consistency, structure and ongoing support. “Given her significant support needs, Saphira would likely do best as the only child in the home, allowing caregivers to provide the individualized attention, supervision and support she needs to be successful,” says Mattea. She would benefit from a family that enjoys spending time together, is committed to maintaining routines and is willing to work collaboratively with service providers and community supports. A home with pets could be a wonderful fit with appropriate supervision and guidance. “Finding caregivers who can provide patience, encouragement and a lifelong commitment to meeting her needs is very important,” says Mattea.
Saphira experiences developmental and learning challenges that require additional support, supervision and guidance. She is most successful when her environment is predictable, expectations are clear and adults provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement. “Caregivers who remain patient, flexible and supportive can help Saphira continue developing skills and confidence,” says Mattea.
Saphira’s future family should be open to supporting healthy connections and helping her maintain a positive understanding of her personal history. “Supporting her interests, celebrating her achievements, maintaining strong routines, and staying actively involved in services and supports will help her continue growing and reaching her goals,” says Mattea. She will thrive with caregivers who see her strengths, encourage her independence and remain dedicated to her success throughout her life.
“Saphira is a kind, social, and resilient girl who needs a family that can provide structure, embrace support services, and offer a lifelong commitment to her,” says Mattea. In return, they will have the opportunity to share life with a youth who brings warmth, curiosity and joy to the people around her.
