Seth is an active and outgoing 17-year-old who is full of energy and loves to spend his free time with friends playing football and basketball. When he’s not playing sports or hanging out with friends, “he loves driving and going shopping at his favorite store, Footlocker,” says Jazzmin, his Child-Specific Recruiter.
Whether playing sports, spending time outside, or playing his favorite video game, Seth’s easy-going and optimistic nature can brighten anyone’s day.
Now that Seth is 17, he is starting to think about what life after high school might bring. Despite the unexpected changes that students have faced due to COVID-19, Seth is looking forward to graduating high school next year and attending college. While he’s not sure what college he’ll attend, his favorite subject in school is math, which he hopes to continue studying in college.
As an older youth in foster care, it is important that Seth receive the love and guidance needed to successfully transition from his high school years to young adulthood. To help Seth thrive during this time, he needs a family that is loving, caring, supportive, active, and trustworthy. As an older teen, he also enjoys a certain amount of independence and leniency from his parents. “Freedom is very important to Seth,” says Jazzmin. However, Seth still needs a family to be there for him when he’s struggling or facing unexpected challenges. He has diabetes and it is important that his family is there to help assist him with health concerns and answers questions.
When Seth thinks about the type of family he hopes for, he has shared that he is open to different types of families, and would be happy living in a city or suburb, and prefers to be the only child in the home. It is also important for Seth to maintain birth family relationships.
With senior year coming up fast, Seth is looking forward to a future filled with love, family, and new adventures. “I hope Seth will achieve all of his goals and dreams, and I hope he finds an amazing family!” says Jazzmin.
