Join Us for a Webinar: Refusing to Energize Negative Behavior

Tuesday, October 13 from 7:00-8:30pm CT (via zoom).

The Nurtured Heart Approach® (created by Howard Glasser) is a relationship-based way to help children build self-control, confidence, and positive behavior, leading them to grow inner wealth. This evidence-based method gives caregivers, educators, and professionals the tools to calm chaos, build trust, and bring out a child/youth’s inner greatness.

In this session, caregivers will learn how to stop “feeding” unwanted behavior with too much talking, emotion, or intensity. The session focuses on helping caregivers stay calm, choose fewer words, and respond in ways that reduce power struggles while still supporting their child(ren).

Presented by Sarah How

Sarah is a wife and mom of four adult children, two of whom joined their family through therapeutic foster care adoption at ages 6 and 12. She knows firsthand the joy, complexity, and challenges that can come with building a family. Her calling flows from a deep faith and a belief that every child, no matter their story, has value and greatness.

Sarah is a Worldwide Certified Training Intensive Partner and Trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach® and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with nearly 30 years of experience walking alongside children, families, and educators. As an international speaker, relationship coach, and author of books for both adults and children, she is passionate about helping caregivers and educators build strong, healthy relationships and transform everyday behavioral struggles into opportunities for connection, growth, and grace.

After adopting two of their children in 2009, Sarah began openly sharing her family’s story, the joys as well as the hard parts, trusting that honesty and vulnerability could encourage other caregivers walking a similar road. She draws strength from her faith community and remains deeply connected to her local adoptive community through retreats and support groups. She also understands that the journey of parenting and connection doesn’t simply end when a child turns 18.

At the heart of Sarah’s books, speaking, and professional work is a simple belief: every child and family has the capacity to grow emotionally, connect deeply, discover their greatness, and thrive together.
