Assisting members of the adoption constellation to navigate openness.
Relationships can be complicated and evolve over time. Our Post-Adoption staff are trained in non-legal mediation and can provide one or more individuals guidance and support as they navigate openness.
We will meet the individual or parties where they are and work to establish or increase positive interactions, set boundaries, and develop strategies that can be used on an ongoing basis.
Before the start of this service, we ask that there be an established connection (via reunion/reunification, open adoption, DNA search, etc.).
Through this service, we can assist with:
- Emotional support
- Navigating conflict
- Enhancing interpersonal communication
- Discussing openness with kids
- Post-DNA search support
- Openness planning & meeting facilitation
- Guidance on information disclosure & protection
- Connection to resources, services, and additional supports
Please note, this is not a crisis service for emergency situations. In the case of an emergency, please contact 911 or utilize crisis mental health services.
