HELLO – WE ARE THE PEARCES

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us!

We are honored and grateful for your consideration to make an adoption plan that includes us. We decided to adopt early in our relationship, and have planned, hoped, and prayed for you and for your child since that moment.

Our hope is to show a glimpse of who we are, complete with all of the quirks, passions, and joys that make up our family. We are grateful to you and look forward to the chance to meet you soon. We cannot wait to meet you!!

MEET ANDREW

Andrew grew up in Richfield Minnesota as the oldest of 5 siblings. He is a proud Minnesotan, a state he is happy to call home after living in Detroit Michigan for 6 years. He loves his work as a teacher. He expects the very best from his students, and cares for them dearly. His passion for students is only matched by his fierce loyalty to our friends and family. He is kind, driven, and funny. He loves to tell stories and considers it his personal responsibility to take Raquel into nature any chance he gets.

  • Occupation: Andrew is a teacher at Hope Academy in Minneapolis
  • Hobbies & Interests: Andrew loves biking, hiking, and kayaking, along with watching the Vikings, Timberwolves and Loons games
  • Favorite Place: The family cabin in Wisconsin, Young Life camp, and our backyard patio
  • Favorite Tradition: Having family over for Friday night pizza every week

MEET RAQUEL

Raquel grew up in the Dominican Republic and moved to Minnesota with her family of 5 when she was 15. She adapted quickly to life as an American, and quickly mastered English along with the ins and outs of American culture. While her career involves using her organizational gifts in managing digital websites, Raquel’s true gift is in her ability to make kids, friends, and family feel welcome. She is warm, intentional, and caring. She has a high attention to detail and has the loudest laugh in the room.

  • Occupation: Raquel works as a Digital Project Manager for Publicis Sapient
  • Hobbies & Interests: Raquel bakes cakes and throws spectacular parties
  • Favorite Place: Punta Cana in the Dominican, Maria’s Cafe in Minneapolis, and her “cloffice” (closet/office) at home
  • Favorite Tradition: Going to the best Dominican restaurant in the city for dinner when Raquel’s parents visit

MEET TITI (also known as Serenity)

Serenity joined our family through adoption 2 years ago. It was immediately clear that she was a Pearce. She is loud, joyful, strong, and kind. She has lots of plans and ideas, and communicates them enthusiastically in either English, Spanish, or both. She is very excited about being a big sister and asks frequently about the possibility of a younger sibling.

We have an open adoption with Serenity’s birth mom, and get to see her every other month. It is a normal and awesome part of Serenity’s life.

  • Occupation: In charge
  • Hobbies & Interests: Make believe, arts and crafts, reading, building houses with Legos, making pillow forts
  • Favorite Place: Home, backyard, big park, small park, new park, parks in general
  • Favorite Tradition: Making cookies with Mom
