Dear Expectant Parent(s),

We’re Christopher & Amy Lawson and more than anything in this world, we want to become parents. We’re unable to have biological children and our hearts are very much drawn to adoption. We want to share our lively, happy home and lives with a child who needs a fun-loving mom & dad to take care of them, always. Our friends and families are so excited to welcome them into their lives and share their love, too.

While we can’t imagine what this time has been like for you, or what it’s like to make this enormous decision, please know we will show respect to whatever parts of your story you want to share.

If you’re willing, we’d really like to have an open adoption so they can have a comfortable connection with you. The bigger their circle of support, the more love they’ll always know.

We sure hope to meet you so we can get to know each other—we want to learn what you wish for their future as well!

With gratitude and hope,

Christopher & Amy

Hi there, I’m Amy!

I’m a Professional Chef and I’m the Manager of a Kitchen and Nutrition Program for a private preschool in Plymouth, MN. I also have a private chef business with clients in the north metro. I’ve been everything from a Corporate Chef at General Mills and a boutique restaurant’s Executive Chef. Food and Cooking is a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to teach a little one their way around the kitchen—we can create recipes together! I’m really fortunate that my employer would offer the option of enrolling our child in the preschool; it’s a wonderful option if Christopher and I decide to go that route.

I really enjoy having an herb garden and growing my own ingredients. I hope to start growing vegetables and berries this year—maybe one year we can have a small pumpkin patch! We also have tons of flowers in our yard and I love the magical look they give our outdoor living spaces. I already have a “junior watering can” ready for our future child!

I love to read! For the last few years, I’ve collected some of my favorite childhood books & wonderful new stories to build a library for our future child. I love everything spooky, from trick-or-treating in our neighborhood to mysteries and haunted houses. Halloween and the fall season is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I look forward to regularly hosting exciting neighborhood parties for the kids, and going all-out on fun, creative costumes!

Being a mom is going to be the most important role of my life! I can’t wait to love a child and do my very best to make them feel safe and happy. I know there will be challenges, but nothing will ever stop me from loving them with my whole heart.

Hello! My name is Christopher.

I have been lucky enough to be Amy’s husband since 2005. We have been on the road to parenthood since then, and we are excited that our paths have crossed with you.

Since early 2020, I have been running my own business out of our home office. Doing so gives me the opportunity to be flexible with my schedule. It also means that someone will always be home. I sell trading cards online in a fun way called “breaking.” I use this business not only to support us, but also to raise money for amazing charities like Big Brothers Big Sisters.

I grew up with a real love of music. I learned how to play drums and guitar throughout my childhood. If there was an opportunity to play, I took it. I still like to pick up the guitar and pretend I’m a rockstar.

A big interest of mine is science and the exploration of space. I was always fascinated with the planets. Stargazing is one of my favorite ways to relax. I did this while laying on my childhood home’s rooftop. Nowadays, I do this from a chair, sitting next to Amy, by our fire pit.

I’m a big fan of sports. I played baseball and soccer all throughout my childhood. I enjoy watching football and love attending baseball games. During baseball season, Amy and I make it a point to go to as many Twins games as possible.

I enjoy staying physically active. I’ve been a runner for a number of years and try to get out on the local trails two to three times each week. I have run in a few 5K’s and hope to run in more.

I hope to share all of these things as a parent. I also hope to be there as a teacher, a protector, and a provider. I know being a dad will be the most challenging and most fulfilling thing in my life; I’m ready for it!
