Hello there!

We are Molly and Andrew, and we live in the Highland area of Saint Paul, MN. Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about us. We are extremely excited to grow our family through adoption, and we are honored that you would consider us as parents for your child.

Adoption has been part of our family planning process since before we even got married. On drives to Molly’s family cabin on the north shore, we would discuss the future of our family and being adoptive parents was always part of our plan. Andrew’s two best friends in college were both adopted internationally and were strong advocates and supporters of the adoption process and very vocal about the importance of found family.

Our neurodivergent household consists of Molly, Andrew, and our two dogs, Vin and Pax.  Molly and Andrew met practicing martial arts at a studio in Saint Paul and are coming up on our 10th wedding anniversary.  Molly is a doctor and works in the hospital as a pediatrician and internist (adult doctor).  Andrew is an orthotic technician part time working to make medical braces.  Andrew and Molly have lots of experience with children including Andrew growing up in a daycare household and then working as a family martial arts instructor, while Molly was a hockey coach and martial arts instructor before becoming a pediatrician.  We spend lots of time with our nieces, nephew, and children of close family friends who refer to us as their Star Wars Godparents and the inventors of a new holiday called “candy new year”.

One of our greatest joys are our two dogs, Vin and Pax. Our two rescue mutts are both extremely affectionate towards our families and friends but also love to meet new people. Vin is a comfort seeking queen who is often found laying on a bed or sofa with several pillows and blankets surrounding her. Pax loves to play fetch in our backyard with his doggy football and also taking naps with his humans (us) whenever he can.  We also enjoy time with family, many of whom live in the Twin Cities, hosting friends for dinner, travelling, cooking/exploring new foods, reading (all sorts but particularly SciFi, Fantasy, and Manga), and taking part in what brings other people joy.

We thank you for taking the time to learn about us and hope you are getting the time and support you need.  There is a little more about each of us below, but we are more than happy to tell you more about us or answer questions, just ask.

About Molly

Molly grew-up in a family of musicians and has brought that love and appreciation for music with her throughout her life.  Molly is genuinely interested in those around her and will go out of her way to make sure that others feel seen and understood. This interest can range from talking to Andrew’s brother the first time they met about their mutual love of heavy metal music, to helping her colleagues navigate difficulties both at work or in their personal lives.

Molly loves connecting with our niece and nephew for who they are, not who she thinks they should be. Molly gets very excited about shared interests like STEM toys, rock hounding on the north shore, or musical exploration. She is equally excited to have our nieces and nephew introduce her to their new favorite activity like competing on Ninja courses or all things Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Molly is a study in opposites; she is an introvert who has always had a great love of teaching. From peewee hockey to family martial arts, to future doctors, she excels at a variety of different teaching styles. She is also one who loves an adventure but can be equally content lounging in the backyard with our two dogs and an iced coffee.

Molly will give our child all of the love, emotional and physical support, care, understanding, patience, and structure that they need to grow and develop into the best version of themselves possible. But on top of all of that she will create joy, whimsy, creativity, and fun throughout our child’s life just by being her fantastic self.

About Andrew

Two of Andrew’s favorite things in the world come straight from his childhood: interacting with children and cooking for other people. This makes sense when you learn that both of his parents owned and operated restaurants and did theater when he was a small child. His father continued theater throughout his life, and his mother ran an in-home daycare.

Andrew has always described himself as two things: an “extroverted homebody” and a “professional sidekick.” He loves being around other people, especially when he is the host. Telling stories, making food or drinks, and even cleaning up after everyone is gone helps fill his cup. Andrew has the excellent ability to follow other peoples’ lead and add to their adventure without trying to make himself the main character. This can cover most any situation from helping someone shop for the perfect birthday gift for a mutual friend, to following a friend’s child as they explore and play at a new park.

Andrew works part time for a family-owned business as an orthotics technician making assistive medical braces.  This schedule allows for more flexibility week to week.  This schedule has also made for a good balance of day-to-day household management and flexibility to support our extended family/chosen family.
