Show up for each other

Hello!

We are a family of three (plus a dog and a bunny) living in the Twin Cities area. Our favorite thing to do is to spend time together. We have a large extended family in the area whom we see often.

Why Adoption?

Mari is a twin, and . . . so is Patrick. Yep. That’s right. Twins marrying twins. Pretty weird. Maybe because we love and enjoy our twins and other siblings so much, we always envisioned having more than one child.

Unfortunately, after Esmé’s birth, Mari suffered from post-delivery complications. Though she’s healthy now, her doctor does not recommend another pregnancy.

We gave the idea of adoption a lot of thought before we finally landed on it as the ideal way to build our family. Mari has two “half” sisters (but we don’t call them that!), and Patrick’s cousin and grandmother were both adopted. So, we’ve never felt that a biological relation is necessary to make someone part of the family!

We love being parents, and we long to raise more children and share all the joy our little family has brought us.

You & Us

It is our greatest hope to have a continuing relationship with this child’s first family, if that is a comfortable arrangement for you. We believe in the benefits that openness has for everyone, and we’d love the chance to get to know you and your family!

About Us

Mari

Loves: friendships, awful puns (they are hilarious), reading and writing, a clean house (but hates cleaning), fuzzy animals, Christmas lights, and coffee-shop coffee

Patrick

Loves: the Vikings, playing volleyball, basketball, and tennis, reading and writing, stand-up comedy (he used to perform at open mics!), and debating anything and everything (in a well-informed manner)

Esmé (five years old)

Loves: catalogs (circling things she hopes Santa will bring, even in August), Paw Patrol, story time with mom or dad, Piper (our dog), milk, her cousins, her kindergarten teacher, Target, training to be a Jedi, and the zoo

Piper (dog)

Loves: treats, her people, the dog park, tennis balls, napping on our bed, and running after . . . anything

Cheeks (rabbit)

Loves: eating and sleeping. That’s it. That’s the whole list. Good thing he’s so cute.

Our House

We’ve finally settled into what we consider our dream home. We have a large, fenced backyard and a screened porch that we spend all summer on!

Our Beliefs

We believe that all people should be treated with respect, regardless of their background, race, religion, gender, or any other factor. And we will pass these values on to the children we raise.

Adventures!

Whether it’s trips to the zoo, summer parades, playing superhero in the living room, family bowling, blueberry picking, family vacations to Wisconsin Dells, fairy-wing playdates with cousins, or baking Christmas cookies, we love doing things together.
